Labeling itself as “the last opener you will ever need”, the Bottle Grenade ($20+) is the latest Kickstarter project to peak our interest. In truth, this opener is the ultimate EDC tool including a screwdriver, a bottle opener (twist and pop-top), a 7/16″ hex bolt wrench, a magnet, and a clip so you can hang it on your belt loop (shown above).
We can always appreciate a good bottle opener, especially when it is conveniently hidden in your everyday carry. The Opena iPhone Case ($40) combines iPhone protection and a great looking bottle opener to ensure that you never have to use a lighter to open your suds ever again. iPhone 4 and 5 versions available.
Another Kickstarter project, another genius product. We have seen bottle openers incorporated into shoes, belts, hats, but never before have we seen bottle opener sunglasses. The JackHawk 9000 – Titanium Bottle Opener Sunglasses ($90+) are exactly what you think they would be: sunglasses with bottle openers on either arm. The frame is made from the same material as the SR-71 Blackbird spy plane, and the polarized lenses are coated with Iradium to reduce glare and improve scratch resistance. Essentially, these sunglasses are indestructible and will ensure that you alway have a means to open your cold brew.
Awesome™ might have the best company name we have ever seen, which is appropriate because they offer some awesome, design-focused products like the Awesome Bottle Opener ($30). What might look like a wrench is actually a bottle opener on both sides. The bottle opener is branded with the company name so your friend’s know how awesome your bottle opener is.
Sometimes you come across gear that speaks for itself. Such is the case with the Respect | Limited Edition Bottle Opener ($50) by J.L. Lawson & Co. This hand machined and cold rolled steel bottle opener has a black patina finish with wax coating to help prevent rusting. It hangs on a piece of paracord with a machined steel end cap. Put it on your keychain or keep on your home bar. Wherever it ends up, it will be one of the coolest looking bottle openers you will find. Made in the USA.
The product of yet another successful Kickstarter project, The Clip ($15) is the world’s most talented keychain. The uses for this versatile piece of EDC are endless. To name a few, you can use the clip as bookmark, a money clip, a bottle opener, a belt clip, a food pack sealer, and a headphone cable organizer. If Macgyver had a keychain, we are pretty sure it would be this one.
The next time you are out for a round of drink with some friends, pull out the HYDE Bottle Opener ($28) and spin it to see who has to pick up the tab. This bottle opener is cast in solid lacquered brass with a hand drawn engraving reading “Spin to see who pays” on one side and “You pay” on the other. Similar to spin the bottle without the awkward kissing. (via)
For those times when you crack open a cold one only to be summoned away to fix the leaking toilet, your drink shouldn’t have to suffer. Put a proverbial cap on it with the Hermetus Bottle Opener and Resealer ($7.90). Opens a bottle then glides over the top and makes a tight seal to keep beers from going flat or spilling.
If you are going to put a carabiner on your keychain, make sure it does more than hold your keys. The S-Biner Ahhh… ($3.99) brings a little more utility to your keychain carabiner with its double-sided bottle opener. Keep this thing in your pocket, or clipped on your belt loop, and you will be the envy of thirsty people everywhere. Available in black or stainless steel.
